Suicide risk

People with a mental illness have a greater chance of feeling suicidal than someone without a mental illness.

Talking with someone about suicide does not increase the risk of that person attempting suicide.

There are a number of excellent programs for people who wish to learn more about suicide prevention and how to assist someone who is talking about suicide. Contact Carers Queensland on 1800 242 636.

If someone is feeling suicidal, you can call Lifeline on 13 11 14. If it is urgent, call 000 for emergency services.
